This Cookie Policy forms an integral part of the Privacy Policy. You can exercise the rights provided by the articles. 15-22 of the GDPR, by writing to the email address privacy@fibernet.it , while to change the settings on cookies you will need to change the imports of your browser by following the instructions in this Cookie Policy.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text strings that the sites visited by the user send to your terminal via the browser used to open and consult the web pages, where they are stored and then retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit by the same user. While browsing a site, the user can also receive cookies on his terminal that are sent from different sites or web servers (so-called “third parties”), on which some elements may reside (such as, for example, images, maps, sounds, specific links to pages from other domains) on the site he is visiting.

By default, almost all web browsers are set to automatically accept cookies.
In provision no. 229 of 8 May 2014, the Guarantor for the protection of personal data has identified the following macro-categories of cookies.

  1. Technical cookies : these are used for the sole purpose of ” carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide this service “(see art. 122, paragraph 1, of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003, also Privacy Code). They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the website. They can be divided into:
  • navigation or session cookies , which guarantee the normal navigation and use of the site (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas);
  • analytics cookies , assimilated to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site;
  • functionality cookies , which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided.

For the installation of these cookies, the prior consent of the users is not required, while the obligation to provide the information pursuant to art. 13 of Regulation (EU) no. 2016/679, which the site manager, if he uses only these devices, will be able to provide in the manner he deems most suitable.

  1. Profiling cookies : they are aimed at creating user profiles and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the same part of surfing the net.

Due to the particular invasiveness that these devices may have in the private sphere of users, European and Italian legislation provides that the user must be adequately informed on the use of the same and thus express their valid consent. They refer to art. 122 of the Privacy Code where it provides, in paragraph 1, that ” the storage of information in the terminal device of a contractor or user or access to information already stored are allowed only on condition that the user has expressed his consent after being informed in the simplified procedures referred to in article 13, paragraph 3 “.

Cookies can be installed on the user’s terminal by the same operator of the site that the user is visiting (which can be briefly referred to as “editor”) or a different site that installs cookies through the first (so-called “third parties” “). The Guarantor for the protection of personal data distinguishes between the two subjects in order to correctly identify their respective roles and respective responsibilities, with reference to the release of the information and the acquisition of the consent of online users. In fact, it is not possible to impose on the publisher the obligation to provide the information and acquire consent to the installation of cookies within its own site also for those installed by “third parties”, as the publisher often does not directly know all the third parties who install cookies through their site and, therefore, not even the logic underlying the related treatments. Furthermore, it is not uncommon for the publisher and third parties to come between actors who perform the role of concessionaires, making it very complex for the publisher to control the activities of all the parties involved.

This would also lead to a general lack of clarity of the information issued by the publisher, while making it extremely difficult for the user to read the document and therefore understand the information contained therein, thereby also frustrating the intention of simplification envisaged by the ‘art. 122 of the Privacy Code.

How do cookies work and how do you delete them?

Each user can set the browser of their terminal so that it accepts / refuses all cookies or displays a warning every time a cookie is proposed, in order to be able to evaluate whether to accept it or not.

The user is enabled, however, to change the default configuration (default) and disable cookies (i.e. block them permanently), setting the highest level of protection.

The methods for blocking or deleting cookies from your device vary according to the type of terminal and to the type of browser used.

If you use a fixed device (pc, laptop, notebook, netbook and similar) you need to adjust the browser settings:

If you use a mobile device (smartphone or tablet) you need to change the settings of your terminal:
